wedding planning. floral look.

One of my favorite parts of wedding planning is floral design and styling.  Over the years I have enjoyed learning different flower types, design aesthetics, and floral composition so when it came time to plan this aspect of our wedding I had plenty of ideas to work from.

Our main goal is to create something that is beautiful and eye catching while still being simple.  The house that overlooks the property is so stunning that I don’t want anything to compete with what the venue itself has to offer.  Our floral budget is conservative so that is another thing to take into consideration when it came to planning out the look.

For our wedding we need the following options:

  • Ceremony Floral
  • Large Reception Entrance Arrangement
  • Bouquets, Boutineers and Corsages
  • Reception Table Arrangements (Qty. 6)
  • Greenery for Reception Table Arrangements (Qty. 6)
  • Cocktail Table Greenery
  • Garlands for 2 Tables and 2 Fireplaces
  • Guest Book Table, Memorial Table, Seating Chart etc.

Here is the general aesthetic we are going for.

Manor Court Events Lauren and JonThe look for our day will be very natural with lots of greenery and neutral colors.  Inside of the house the decor is very preppy with light colors, painted walls and patterned fabrics so going with a simple floral design will compliment instead of compete with the existing decor.

For the reception tables we are doing two different options that will alternate table by table throughout the space.  Half of the tables will feature a low, stemmed vase floral arrangement with votive candles.  For the other half we will have vintage gold candlesticks inside hurricanes with greenery, bud vases and votive candles.  I wanted some of the tables to have some height and we will achieve that with the hurricanes and vintage candles.

Overall, our wedding floral will be effortless and lush while still being impactful.  I’ve chosen to highlight a few key areas and go much more simple in others.  We are also utilizing candles significantly throughout the space to give everything a warm glow.  Below you will find more design inspiration and ideas for our look!

a grecian engagement.

Well that was a unexpected vacation from blogging!  Things have been very exciting since our return from Greece.  The trip was an amazing experience and we were able to see a decent amount of the country in a short time.  While there we saw Santorini, Athens, and Hydra.  I was slightly afraid of us being over scheduled which ended up being the case, three cities in six days was way too much traveling in such a short amount of time.  As we were on a tight time frame we wanted to fit in as much as possible but it ended up making us both sick and very tired.  Lesson learned!

The trip ended up being incredibly special as Chief proposed on our first day in Santorini!  The setting was so magical and the proposal was so sweet, I couldn’t have asked for anything more!
