30th birthday party.

One of my dear friends is turned 30 a few weeks ago and had a party at a mutual friend’s house.  I decided to throw together some decor ideas for the party to give it a festive theme while still being a casual afternoon event.  Here is the look we went for.

Lindsay's 30th BirthdayFor any party thrown at someone’s home I always try to focus on a few main areas that provide impact rather than doing small things all over the inside or outside of the house.  For this particular party the color scheme was orange (the birthday girl’s favorite color), hot pink and gold.  I wrote this post before seeing our friend’s renovated back yard so we thought the following areas.

  1. Entrance (Big 3-0 Balloons or So Happy I’m 30 Balloon Sign)
  2. Bar Area (CHEERS Sequin Sign Hanging above Bar)
  3. Pinata Area- Enough said!
  4. Photobooth Area (Balloon Garland (potentially- I normally don’t like doing balloons outdoors for obvious reasons) or something easier maybe dyed fabric panels like below.

I’ll post pictures after the party with all of the finished decor!

Fall Bridal Show

Southern Season participated in the Forever Bridal Show in Raleigh, NC last fall and I had a chance to do a quick photo shoot before taking the flowers over to the show!  I really love how everything turned out!  One of my favorite parts of wedding planning is floral design and creating beautiful tables and I could not be more happy that my work allows me this luxury.  I was going for whimsical with a bright and summery feel as so many brides that attend this show will be getting married in the spring and summer.

Floral used: Ranunculus, Garden Roses, Stock, Spray Roses

IMG_4251 IMG_4255We as in my mom (sewing is not my forte!) made the runner from this great ikat we found at Fabric Showcase in Myrtle Beach and I love the pink with all of the different blues.IMG_4245 IMG_4242 IMG_4238 IMG_4224 IMG_4221We were constricted by size for the display table at the show but I would love to do something similar to this for long banquet style tables. By using additional bud vases with more variance in height and number of flowers you could create something even more whimsical and carefree!
