Work has been absolutely crazy these past couple weeks that I haven’t really had a chance to get any weekend snapshots as I’ve been spending almost every day at work over the weekends with wedding and event clients.  As I haven’t done any weekend snapshots the past few weeks I thought I would do a quick home tour.  I live in a relatively small two bedroom apartment with my good friend/roommate.  We have a large open shared living space that encompasses our kitchen, living room, and dining room with both bedrooms off the main hallway.

IMG_5261 IMG_5278The look and feel of our apartment is chic (if I do say so myself!) yet relaxed, I want people to be able to come over and put their feet up on the coffee table as well as have a space overnight guests can stay if needed.  The Karlstad couch I purchased a few years ago is huge and so comfortable.  We can fit tons of people on it or two overnight guests if needed can sleep on either side which is great when you only have two bedrooms.  In the main living space there are two big walls, the one behind the TV as well as the long wall that spans the entire apartment.  We featured the fish scale wall behind the TV as it gives some texture to that space and on the wall that spans the entire apartment we have a very large gallery wall.IMG_5266My Lilly lamps are probably one of my favorite items in the entire apartment.  They are vintage/flea market that I found in Charlotte.  Originally they were a light pink glass with an etched floral motif that I thought I would be able to remove, but unfortunately it would never come off so as much as I loved the pink glass they were spray painted and the shades recovered in this awesome fabric I found at JoAnn’s.  It is not real Lilly fabric (I refuse to pay $100-$200 a yard for it…) but everyone that comes over to visit refers to them as that so the name has stuck!

IMG_5337 IMG_5343 IMG_5345 IMG_5310Currently I am really wanting to redo my bedroom and bathroom.  Almost everything in this space is older, I first bought the grey and yellow pillows when I first moved to Raleigh about 4 years ago and I don’t love how they go with the black and white striped euro pillows which if you can tell from all the pictures I’m obsessed with black and white stripes.  In my opinion the best black and white striped fabric is Ikea’s, the fabric is a very nice quality with a tight weave so you get a very true black and white.  IMG_5230 IMG_5238 IMG_5297Almost all of my furniture is a mix between Ikea and flea market or vintage finds and hand me downs.  When I first moved out on my own I had a bedroom set and two really old couches so needless to say our apartment was very bare.  I started buying furniture like crazy and have continued adding since we moved in.  My budget for furniture is still that of a poor college student so ikea has been used throughout our apartment quite a bit.  My Karlstad couch along with my Ikea bed were my first big furniture buys and I still love them as much as when I first purchased them.  My boyfriend and I are going to be buying a house in the coming months (Details coming soon!!!!!) so I will hopefully be upgrading a few pieces.  I would love to have a coffee table from West Elm or Crate and Barrel, potentially a new upholstered bed and I really really want to upholster my pink chair in navy blue velvet.IMG_5247 IMG_5290 IMG_5197Soucres:  Couch // Coffee Table // Bookshelf // Bar // Frames (Assorted Ikea and Flea Market painted black) // Garland (Handmade) // Assorted Pillows // Lilly Lamps (Vintage) Fabric (JoAnn’s) // TV Console (Vintage) // Cat Pillow // Nightstands
